2021 Santa Clara County World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day takes place on the 1st December each year, honoring its 33rd year in 2021. Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for the estimated 38 million people living with HIV, and to honor the more than 36 million those who have died from a AIDS-related illness.
In Santa Clara County we will honor World AIDS Day's 33rd year by hosting in-person and virtual public events, open to everyone to attend, as we honor and commemorate all those who are impacted and those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. People living with HIV are our neighbors, our friends, our coworkers, and our family. While the days where HIV meant a certain death sentence are behind us, we are not done fighting until the disease is eradicated. Let’s End HIV/AIDS Together!
